I sent home your child's progress report on Friday. Please sign and return them ASAP. I also sent home a parent letter detailing the Inventor's Project. This project is due in three different segments. One part of the project is due this Friday. I will assign a fun book for your child to read over Thanksgiving break on Friday. I will provide time in class for your kiddo to begin reading the book. Due to the holiday and the extra book assignment, the Lit Circle job/summary are due on Thursday this week. The Lit Circle quiz will also be Thursday. Your child also began working on a geometry project last Friday. It is tentatively due this Friday as well. I may extend the deadline depending on how much time they are able to work on the project in class.

Over the past few weeks, your kiddos have been researching how our state became a state. They have discovered that our capital has moved five different times and now resides in Montgomery. In 1819, Alabama was the 22nd state to join the country. We visited the state Capitol in Montgomery during the field trip last Friday. We also toured Dexter Avenue Baptist Church (the church MLK preached at), Old Alabama Town, and the Rosa Parks Museum. Here are a few pictures from the trip! |
