Over the past few weeks, your kiddos have been researching how our state became a state. They have discovered that our capital has moved five different times and now resides in Montgomery. In 1819, Alabama was the 22nd state to join the country. We visited the state Capitol in Montgomery during the field trip last Friday. We also toured Dexter Avenue Baptist Church (the church MLK preached at), Old Alabama Town, and the Rosa Parks Museum. Here are a few pictures from the trip!
