The kids were able to go on a garden hike to learn more about the plants in the garden. They were even able to taste some of the delicious strawberries grown in our garden! Each week, your child has the opportunity to learn in the outdoor classroom, otherwise known as The Garden. Your child has planted, observed, harvested, tasted, and recorded data on the various plants in our garden. The long awaited Coosa River field trip is only ONE week away! If you haven't turned in the permission forms, please make sure that they are turned in by Thursday. Friday we will be on a field trip to the Watershed Festival here in town. Since we have a field trip on Friday, and a guest speaker coming on Wednesday morning, I have lightened the work load this week. There won't be a reader's notebook question to respond to during reading workshop this week. Instead your child will be writing a script about his/her famous Alabamian for the Film Festival. Also, I will let your child work on the lit circle jobs and summaries in class during Must Do time.
This week: -We will write a script about a famous Alabamian. -We will begin filming for the Film Festival on Wednesday. (Your child will want to dress up like his/her famous Alabamian.) -The literature circle final test will be on Thursday this week. The lit circle job/summary will also be due on Thursday. (Chapters 12-13) -Must Do's will be due on Friday morning.
